Community Values, Principles and Guidelines
For events & Day Use At DragonfllyHill

In consideration for the safety and enjoyment of everyone who stays, lives and works here.  We thank you for your consideration

General Guidelines

Respect the Space:

  1. We value deeply the diversity, labor, skill and craft of everyone who participates, works and lives at and around DragonflyHill. We therefore insist that people are especially vigilant to avoid speech and actions that are hurtful, marginalizing and offensive.  We are ethnically and culturally diverse, anti-racist, anti-sexist, child friendly, wheelchair accessible and dis-ability and LGBTQIA affirmative. We strongly abide by these values and hope you’ll join us.
  2. We are part of a larger community that is also economically, ethnically and culturally diverse. We deeply value our relationships with our neighbors.  All events need to take into consideration the surrounding residential community, making sure that noise level and other interruptions to daily living are respectful of those who live in and around DragonflyHill.
If there is a problem with something or someone in the neighborhood, please contact your DragonflyHill Team and let us do what we can to resolve it.
  3. Private areas including the residences, campsites, trailers and out buildings of DragonflyHill are off  limits unless specified in your use of the space and appropriate or requisite for the event.
  4. NO contraband: No porn, drugs or weapons. No guns. No exceptions! And of course, no illegal criminal activity. This is not a moral judgement, but rather a security consideration and lifestyle choice for the space. Our no weapons policy applies to law enforcement, governmental security agents or military personnel etc. and we discourage them from use of our space.  If you have a warrant we of course will not obstruct you in your court-mandated work, but we do not give consent.
  5. This is a safe and sober space. No alcohol without special arrangements and consideration.
  6. Service and assistance animals and their owners are encouraged to participate in all events throughout the space. No pets (this does not apply to working dogs) are allowed inside any of the buildings. If you are planning on bringing pets, please get permission first. And of course, do not pet, distract or feed service and assistance animals without the permission of their owner.
All animals must be well behaved and trained for their roles.
  7. Please use scent-free personal products before attending events at DragonflyHill, so that everyone can attend regardless of chemical sensitivity. We provide information on scent-free products and the products we use at the Farm on our web page. If you are allergic to any of these products, let us know in advance so we can do everything possible to accommodate your full participation.  We cannot guarantee a scent-free space but we do encourage people to understand that their choice of fragrances can impact the human rights and access of others.
  8. There is no smoking inside any of the buildings. We do allow smoking in designated outdoor areas. Please dispose of your cigarette butts in the receptacle provided.
  9. Hate speech, bullying, sexism, cis-sexism, ableism, racism, bigotry, discrimination, harassment, ridicule,  provocation and government infiltration will not be tolerated.
  10. DragonflyHill does not discriminate on the basis of and provides for a dialogue on the issues of age,  race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, immigration status, DISability and religion.
  11. Groups using the space must take responsibility for set up and clean up.
  12. We require a rental agreement and fee as well as a security deposit.   In most circumstances, the security deposit will be refunded if the staff at DragonflyHill does not have to clean up after you.
  13. Keys and entry codes to DragonflyHill are not to be shared with anyone but the person(s) responsible for the event or space rental. Codes may be changed regularly.
  14. DragonflyHill provides wheelchair access. Pathways and doorways must be maintained to allow for access at all times. Do not impede wheelchair access.

CORONA VIRUS RULES
For Day Use and People Working at DragonflyHill

  1. Follow DragonflyHill Team’s instructions and be flexible as conditions may change and rules may need to be altered.
  2. More than ever, it is important for people to display and practice social responsibility; respecting the health needs of others, especially those who are more vulnerable to the virus. We assume everyone is contagious: Therefore wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet from all people who are not part of one’s family, travel party or pod  (This applies to outdoor spaces), is required.
  3. If you think the CoronaVirus pandemic is  NOT real or serious,  and it is part of an elaborate hoax to get you to cover the lower half of your face and consider the rights, safety and needs of other people, please choose another location. This is not the space for you.

Designated outdoor bathrooms are available for day use. They are equipped with sanitizers and disinfectants which can be used before and after use of the facilities. Please inform us of any problems in operation or cleanliness of facilities.
