Covid-19 Clean

We’ve always been super clean at DragonflyHill, and we’ve made a point of developing cleaning protocols that are safe for the people cleaning and living in the space.  We were already performing most of the requirements of airbnb’s new protocol either due to the pandemic or preceding it.

To assure a safe space for us, when we clean your space, and for guests/lodgers when you stay with us, we follow and exceed the airbnb enhanced cleaning protocol with the following additions and adjustments.

  1. We wait 24 hours before entering the unit.
  2. After 24 hours we enter the premises just long enough to make sure everything was left in good condition and to turn on the ozone generator.
    1. We return 2 hours later and open doors and windows for at least an hour.
    2. We close and lock doors but leave windows open over night.
  3. We remove all bedding, dishes, pillows, throws, towels into secure hampers and transport for cleaning.
  4. We clean, sanitize and set up the room for you,  using our favorite products and equipment, in accordance with airbnb’s cleaning protocol (see links below). i
  5. For guests/lodgers staying at out Tiny House in Sky Valley, this is the protocol adopted by the resort for all the amenities. in common areas.

Changes in Hospitality

In the past we have offered guests/lodgers lavish breakfasts and hands on hosting, while still respecting guests’ desire for privacy and solitude. We have provided as many amenities as possible and 2 night minimum stays.  With the new AIRBNB cleaning protocol which takes at least 3 days to execute, requiring us to deep clean every detail of a listing, including every plate, glass, pot, pan, spatula, cabinet and shelf,  we have made the following changes in what we can and do provide.

Additional Amenities

  • Our complete cleaning kit, modified for each location,  available to guests/lodgers in our Tiny House and our Vardo Caravan, including our all purpose cleaner.
  • We also provide:

Corona Virus Austerity

We can no longer provide the same quantities of some amenities we provided in the past and currently we adhere to and exceed the new AIRBNB enhanced cleaning protocol

  • For guests/lodgerrs staying at our Desert Farm location, the Main House is no longer available to guests, for guest use. Guests/lodgers may use the grounds and other facilities, in accordance with safe distancing protocols. All listings that include rooms in our home are currently not being offered for lodging.
  • Camping guests/lodgers may stay for a minimum of 2 nights. Common areas will be cleaned and sanitized regularly and guests/lodgers may use provided cleaning and sanitation supplies.
  • For guests/lodgers staying in our Tiny House at Sky Valley:
    • there is a minimum trip length of 5 nights. If guests want to stay only 1-4 nights, they may, but they must purchase and not cancel for a 5 night stay. (That is, the price of a 1-4 night stay is the same as a 5 night stay).
    • One plate and silverware place setting per guest/lodger.
    • Limited kitchen cooking equipment. (Guests/lodgers staying for more than 3 weeks may request full kitchen supplies. If there are specific supplies guests/lodgers want, they should request them and we will make every effort to provide those amenities).

    • We will not be entering the unit while guests/lodgers are present, except for emergencies and require safe distancing and masks.
    •  We can provide linen service  and hampers for week old bed linens and a change of fresh bedding, which guests/lodgers will have to make themselves. The cost of the linen change is $25. Guests/lodgers may not remove our bedding from the premises or launder our bedding themselves. We use specific cleaning products. Fragrances from other products or from another machine can be difficult to remove from bedding. Guests/lodgers staying more than 2 weeks may provide their own bedding or will be required to pay for this service at least every two weeks.

For Guests/lodgers Who Require a Fragrance Free Space

We are using increased quantities of Dawn dish soap, alcohol and bleach, which do not adhere to our fragrance free policy (alcohol and bleach have their own odor, we do not use products with added perfumes, oils or fragrances). Guests/lodgers who require a fragrance free environment need to give us two weeks notice. We will work with you around which products may be problematic for you. If we cannot use alcohol and bleach, we may not be able to provide a disinfected environment.
Additionally, we have found that despite extreme efforts on our part, some sensitive guests/lodgers still have allergic reactions to something in the environment. We cannot guarantee a reaction free experience. Additionally we have no control over materials used and applied by others in our ecosystem and neighborhood.

New Rules for Guests/lodgers Traveling During the Pandemic

  1. If you don’t think the pandemic is real or serious and is part of an elaborate hoax to get you to cover the lower half of your face and consider the rights, safety and needs of other people, please choose to stay elsewhere. This is not the space for you.
  2. We assume everyone: guests/lodgers, hosts, etc., is contagious. Everyone must wear masks and maintain social distancing of 6 feet from all people who are not part of one’s family, travel party or pod.  (This applies to outdoor spaces).
  3. More than ever, it is important for people to display and practice social responsibility.  Guests traveling for leisure from one geographic location to another should be very careful as to not spread the virus by limiting contact with people in the locations to which they travel.  Food and equipment should be purchased before making the trip. Keep travel within a half tank of gas from your home or fill up at pumps without going into stores or having to share space with other people.
  4. For safety reasons and to maintain social distancing, Host will not enter guests/lodgers quarters except in an emergency. During such emergency guests/lodgers are to wear masks and maintain social distancing. An emergency would be any situation that is unsafe for guests/lodgers or where a basic amenity is not available: electrical, water, internet, cable, etc.
  5. Guests/lodgers must follow host’s instructions and be flexible as conditions may change and rules may need to be altered.
  6. Guests/lodgers who use common areas will need to clean and disinfect areas and equipment before use and must clean up after themselves.  Materials are provided by the Dragonfly Team.
  7. Priority is given to guests/lodgers traveling in response to Covid 19 either in need of isolation, quarantine, work space, or for essential workers and first responders.
